Junos Organic Cotton Onidum T-shirt

The Junos (LV72 Juno, a Trinity House light vessel) is a forgotten WWII hero rusting on the muddy banks of the River Neath at Neath Abbey Wharf, visible from the M4 bridge in South Wales.

Built in 1903 as a floating lighthouse beacon, she guided ships for decades until renamed Juno in 1944—after Juno Beach—for D-Day. Towed to Normandy about two weeks after the landings, she marked a safe mine-swept channel, guiding thousands of Allied troops (especially Canadians) and landing craft to the beaches, saving countless lives.

Back in peacetime service in the Bristol Channel until 1972–73, she was sold for scrap to a Swansea/Neath steel company. The owner spared her due to her history, mooring her at the wharf instead. Now over 50 years later, she's a rusty, leaning, overgrown relic—hull plates warped, plants on deck, fittings stolen—slowly deteriorating but still intact enough to spark calls for preservation. A poignant, hidden "forgotten veteran" of Operation Overlord right in Neath!
